Woke up. Followed the usual schedule. God's been teaching me so much! LOVE having an hour to spend with Him every morning. It's the BEST way to begin the day. By giving it back to HIM.
We went to the Gabrielle Language School Campus (where we'll be teaching) for the first time today! The students were so sweet and so eager to meet us, and get to know us while practicing their English. We got to meet the teachers. Play some Uno and just hang out. It was such a blessing.
I CANNOT WAIT TO get to know them better and hang out with them and get to share Jesus with them. I'm so humbled and feel so honored, privledged, and grateful to be here. I can't think of a better way to spend 6 weeks than helping and sharing God's love with students. The people here are so welcoming and warm and loving. Everyone greets each other with kisses. (only on one cheek as opposed to some European countries :]) Learning the customs is amazing. Getting ourselves acculturated.
We had lunch at a Brazilian buffet called Tia Lia with the team and Cindy! :] It was so good.
Rested at bit at the hotel before we headed off to PARK URBANO meeting.
We all hung out and talked before then played those games where you huddle up all put your hands and then have to untangle and a group without letting go of each others hands. It was hilarious. And oh so fun! :] Then we worshiped and then Critter shared a message while Cindy translated into Spanish. It was simple and sweet. Love the Lord your God with all you heart and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. A verse I've heard so many times but the fresh perspective on it was so refreshing. That when everything else passes away God and His glory will be left--and the he wanted to be a part of that.
Right after, Ernon shared what the Lord had been teaching him lately and asked us all if we wanted to and then prayed for us each in a circle. When he laid his hand on my head I felt and heard the Holy Spirit saying "no more fear Rebecca" (The Lord and I have been dealing with my fear for a while now) And as he lifted his hand I felt the rest of the fear within me leave. All I could do was drop to my knees in thanksgiving. I felt a relief and the rest of the burden I'd been holding on to leave me. It was so so so cool.
Afterwards we hung out ate cookies and tea and sang worship songs while Juan Danielle played guitar. Then headed back to the hotel. Success first Park Urbano night I'd say. God is so good. Can't wait to see what He's gonna do at the next one!!
